Meet the Authors:

Daniel and Sue reside in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, living lives of grace while helping others live out of God’s rescuing grace too. They have a passion for sharing the Gospel with everyone they meet. They believe in this season the Lord is calling them to share their story to help other parents living with LGBTQ+ children, looking for help, guidance, support, and maybe an approach.

Daniel

I come from a Scottish heritage and was born in 1963. I am a recovering sinner, needing truckloads of God's grace. I have been happily married to Sue for 34 years. Together we have reared four adult children. I serve as Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies at College of the Ozarks and have done so for 21 years.

Before teaching graduate students, I served as pastor for congregations in OK, TX, CA, and MO. Providing biblical counseling for a wide array of needs and people is one of my deepest joys. I hold an earned Doctor of Ministry.

I enjoy woodworking, reading, walks with Sue, keeping bees with Sue, and quality beer and food. Dark chocolate is a mark of God’s grace!

God's appointment for LGBTQ+ to come through our front door is an occasion for Him to draw us nearer to Him, making us shinier people more clearly reflecting His image of what is true, good, and beautiful. Our journey has been and is one of grace wherein Jesus sustains us as we seek His grace in every step.

Sue

Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Oklahoma State University (Go Cowboys!) and master's degree in reading education from Evangel University. I have taught for over 29 years in both public and private education.

Though I have a wide variety of teaching experiences from preschool to eighth grade, most of my teaching has been in the early childhood setting. Daniel and I have been happily married for 34 years and have been blessed with four children. In my spare time, I like to scrapbook, draw, read, cook, and hang out with family.

Together, Daniel and I enjoy taking long walks, hiking, traveling, and taking care of 200,000+ bees.
